Digital Village Learning Centre | In remembrance of the kind soul Viveka Advani who will forever stay in our hearts.

Village Learning Center is a Barefoot College’s initiative to empower girls, women, and marginalized communities through education in rural areas. All the learning centers are equipped with 3 spacious rooms where one room is a library with books, comfortable seating for 18-20 girls, internet facility for online learning, and tablets for those who don't have phones and need to access these classes; one for online access portal to all government schemes and services like pension, ration cards, etc. Apart from this, after assessing the community's needs, we will use one of the other rooms to conduct personalized workshops related to career counseling, awareness on health and sanitation and vocational training for all age groups.

Barefoot College has a strong commitment to the Gandhian spirit of service and sustainability; to the central belief that knowledge, skills and wisdom found in villages should be used for internal
development before getting help from outside; and to supporting women’s empowerment and gender equality.
